Camp Swatara Family Camping Center Reservation Information

Reservations

·         Process –

o   Accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

o   Reservations may be made online at www.campswatara.org/book year round up to 11 months in advance starting January 18, 2021.

o   Reservations can be made on the phone or in person April through October.

·         Individual Reservations (less than 5 sites) – Can be made up to 11 months in advance.  Full payment is due at the time of reservation.  All payments are non-refundable.

·         Group Reservations (5 or more sites) – Groups must rebook any sites used for the following year before leaving the campground. Full payment is due 2 months before the Campout.  See group reservation information for more information.

Cancellation Policy and Service Charges –. There is a $40 service charge for all returned checks.

Rates are based on dates.

·         Tent Sites: $30

·         Electric and Water sites: $45

·         Electric, water, and sewer sites: $50

·         Small Cabin & Loft Cabin: $65

·         Large Cabin: $75

·         Seasonal Site: $2,000

Site Occupancy and Supervision – Up to 8 persons, or one family unit (two adults and dependent children), may occupy a tent, EW, or EWS site. A maximum of 5 persons may occupy a Small Cabin and a maximum of 9 persons may occupy a Large Cabin. Each site may contain no more than 2 tents or 1 tent and one RV/camper. All camping units must fit within the boundaries of the site. Additional camping units (tents, RV/campers) may not be put on cabin sites. At least one adult (over 18) must reside on each site and is responsible to provide supervision for anyone on that site.


Insurance Notification – Camp Swatara DOES NOT provide insurance coverage for Family Camp guests and is NOT RESPONSIBLE for accidents, injuries, illnesses, or loss of personal property that may occur while on camp property. All guests are responsible to provide their own insurance coverage.

Visitors - Visitors coming out to visit with a camper who is already paying for a site must pay a visitor’s fee based on their age. This fee covers day and overnight visitors. Visitors must check-in at the Family Camp Store upon arrival to pay their fee and receive a car pass.

Day Campers – Perfect for families, grandparents and grandchildren, and even individuals, and couples, Day Camping is a great way to enjoy camp for the day and then go home to sleep in your own bed! Day Campers may be assigned an open site to use from arrival until 9pm. Park your car at the site and use the picnic table and fire ring for your meals. All of camp’s amenities (including the splash pad, pool, hiking trails, and recreation areas) are here for you to enjoy! Day Camping is only available if sites are open. On weekends, we recommend calling camp before heading out to check availability. Day camping sites cannot be reserved in advance. Day Campers must check-in at the Family Camp Store upon arrival to be assigned a site, pay their fee, and receive a car pass.

Pavilion Rental – Family Camp has three pavilions available for use by groups staying at camp as well as outside day groups. The Group Pavilion is reserved for campers staying in the Group Sites and has no availability to other groups when those sites are occupied. If there are multiple groups in the Group Sites, the Group Pavilion must be shared and usage will be arranged with the Family Camp Manager. The Fellowship Hall and Woods Pavilion may be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Pavilion rental cost is $125 and includes up to 100 people. Additional persons are $0.50 each. There is no charge for pavilion use for groups staying at camp. Church of the Brethren members who are not camping may attend events held by their group in the pavilions at no charge. Non-Church of the Brethren groups may choose to have their non-camping guests pay the Visitor Fees or may pay the pavilion rental fee to cover up to 100 people. All groups should report visitor counts to the Family Camp Store for attendance purposes.

Check-In – Check-In time is 3pm. Upon arrival, all campers must report to the Family Camp Store to check-in, report attendance, and receive a car pass. If campers arrive outside of store hours, the car pass will be on the bulletin board with site information. Campers should proceed to their site and return at a later time to check-in.

Check-Out – Check-Out time is 11am for all sites. 1pm check out on Sunday due to camp church service.
