PLEASE NOTE: Due to staffing needs, the September, October, and November programs will be held on Fridays, instead of Thursdays. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you soon!

These are family events. Parents/Guardians are responsible to be with their children for the entirety of the program. Thank you!

March 10th- Have you ever wanted to make maple syrup but you never knew how? Well here's your chance to learn! Join us for a morning all about making maple syrup. We will teach you all about Maples. Then take you through the hands-on process of tapping trees and collecting sap all the way to a boiling demonstration. This event is so sweet you don’t want to miss it. Outdoor education in the morning and open to the public in the evening.

April 14th - Do you ever look around when walking through the woods and wonder what the names of the trees are? You could just name them what you want like John or Donna. OR you can come to Camp Swatara and learn all about how to tell trees apart from one another and after, you can impress your friends with your new found tree ID skills. Please note event swap: April was Habitat Hike. May will be Wonderful Water Works.

May 12th - Join us for a morning on that water and in it! We will learn all about canoeing so you can be a canoeing expert. Once you’ve mastered your skills, we will dive right into exploring the creek that runs through Camp! Please note event swap: April was Habitat Hike. May will be Wonderful Water Works.

September 9th (Friday) - Have you ever built and started a campfire all by yourself? Many campers (and parents!) are familiar with the process, but haven’t actually done it themselves. Now is your chance! Join us for a morning of outdoor living skills where we work together to learn, build, and cook over a fire.
Stay tuned for meal details!

October 14th (Friday) - In today's day and age we have our phones and GPS to tell us where we are and where we are going but what would you do if you didn't have those to tell you? I can tell you. You would be coming to Camp to learn all about how to navigate with a map and compass!

November 11th (Friday) - As a kid you always want to build forts, whether it is with pillows and blankets or out in the snow. Here's a chance to learn how to build a shelter in the woods! Join us for this educational experience so you can add "shelter building" to your survival training.
