March 19th, 2020
Greetings from Camp Swatara. On behalf of the Staff and Board of Directors, please know that we are thinking of and remembering you and your family during this time. While continuing to weigh our engagement with camp family, guests, the community, and beyond, we purpose to discern the available information about the COVID-19 virus impact, ultimately seeking the Lord’s wisdom for what He would have for Camp Swatara moving forward.
As a point of honor and respect for our guests, staff, and community, regarding the measures being taken to slow the transmission of the COVID-19 virus, Camp Swatara has closed, effective March 17th, 2020 through March 31st, 2020, to be reviewed prior to that date for details informing future updates regarding our operations.
In kind, we are postponing the opening of our Family Campground (FCC) from Wednesday April 1st, 2020 to now Friday, May 1st, 2020, to be reviewed prior to that date for details informing future updates regarding our operations.
Regarding deposits and payments for cancelled programs and reservations at this time:
1. We invite you to roll your deposit and/or payment over to a future program or reservation by the end of 2020, or at the most, by one year from your original program or reservation date. Our greatest privilege is to serve you and we want you to fully experience Camp Swatara in person!
2. As a non-profit ministry, we rely on programs, retreats, and rentals to sustain our operations. Would you consider donating your deposit and or payment to Camp Swatara at this time to support our operational expenses?
3. If a refund is requested, Camp Swatara will do our best to honor that request as soon as possible, with a commitment of no later than six months from the date of the request.
As a not-for-profit ministry that facilitates hospitality services and re-creation-al experiences, we plan our year for the participation and usage of campers, guests, and groups. This time of year, and in the immediate months ahead, we experience the most extensive utilization of our services and facilities. Would you, your family, or those in your relational community consider making a donation commitment to Camp Swatara this year that would directly support our operations?
Remember and mediate with us in Hebrews 10:23&24 –
23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.
May the Lord Bless and Keep You –
Tim Courtright, Executive Director, Camp Swatara
